>>>thoughts on webdesign

>>>i really want to add more sound effects and music to the sight but since neocities is a bit restrictive when it comes to those things (i can't get supporter right now even if i wanted to) it's needlessly hard to do. i also try to do more javascript and it's way harder to get into than html and css were.

>>>so i use edge as my main browser and the site looks exactly as i want it to on here. i've managed to make it work on my phone and now it looks as it should on there too (mostly) but for some reason my boyfriends stupid opera gx browser completely messes up the "what am i reading" page and i can not for the life of me figure out why. the side bar is just in a completely different position for no reason and i'm running out of ideas. it's not the screen resolution, changing it from relative position to fixed didn't help and none of the other twn different things i've done fixes it. i guess part of my site is just unreadable for opera users. it's a bad browser anyways so i don't care (i'm coping really hard).

>>>new laptop gotten. i'm still not happy about what happened but at least i have a proper work machine again and can continue making this website properly and, more importantly, can get back to writing. i've recently grown a bit uncomfortable with how neocities automatically creates an update post whenever i update any file of my website. on the one hand it feels a bit spamy;on the other hand i'd like to make some more "secret" parts of the website in the future but it's hard to hide those when everyone can see when i'm working on them. well, whatever. i'm happy that I can get back to working on this.

>>>an addendum: i fixed it by adding "scrollbar-width: none;" to the html tag and that removed the scrollbar. now i only have to be annoyed that firefox just seems to be zoomed in more by default which kind of ruins the user experience i had intended. i'm also noticing just how much the touch screen was part of my work flow and i really miss it.

>>>sooo... my work laptop, that i use to program most of my stuff as well as write and make games on, broke. the hinge on the right just ripped itself out of the casing and shattered a bit of the glass. the screen still works, but the touch function does not and the one hinge that's left is not enough to support the thing. i'll see if i can get it fixed soon, but this really broke me a bit. i'm now working on my old gaming laptop and here i mainly use firefox (i use edge on my work laptop) and i am noticing just how different it is to program for this. why do i need a different code to remove the scrollbars here??? and i havn't even managed to do it properly yet. the one on the very right that scrolls the whole page is still there. it's not the worst thing in the world but i just prefer the clean esthetic of having no scrollbar there. i've considered just switching to edge on this laptop as well, but then again, this website is partially here so other people can see my stuff, so this could also be a good opportunity to make it more functional on defferent browsers. i don't know, i'm just still too upset about my laptop breaking.

>>>i've recently looked at the website on my boyfriends computer and noticed that some parts look different than they do on my laptop. the only problem seems to be that some boxes are misaligned which causes both small and big problems. the "what am i reading?" page just looks broken on there. his screen resolution should be the same as mine so maybe this is an issue with different browsers? i'm using microsoft edge (yeah i know, go make fun of me) and he's on opera so maybe that's it. who knows. i'd say that i'll look into it but that would make development way more cumbersome. who knows if i'll get around to it but it sure annoys me now that i know about it.

>>>how am i already using up almost 10% of the available space??? i gues the pictures just take up too much. i don't really need the extra space right now, but maybe i should look into making this more efficient eventually.

>>>here i'll document some of my thoughts as i keep working on this website, be they positive or negative.
